Basic Domestic Violence Advocacy - 3/7/2012
This training explores: the root causes of domestic violence; beliefs about healthy relationships; risk factors and risk assessment; safety planning; legal advocacy; advocacy for parents on behalf of children; domestic violence laws in Virginia; confidentiality and safe recordkeeping; creating a multicultural environment; systems advocacy. While this series has been designed for staff and volunteers of Sexual and Domestic Violence Agencies (SDVA), the content will be helpful to allied professionals including healthcare providers, therapists/counselors, homeless services, faith communities, social workers, victim/witness assistance staff, and more.
