Boehringer Ingelheim, Inc. presented a check for $22,589 to the City of Petersburg in January, 2012 for equipment for the Berkeley Manor Playground. As a community service endeavor, Boehringer Ingelheim, Inc. deemed it a priority to provide equipment at the Berkeley Manor Playground because the site has been without playground equipment for over fifteen years. Ward 2 Councilman Mike Ross and Director of Petersburg Parks & Leisure Services, Tami Yerby were instrumental in working with Boehringer Ingelheim’s Director of Public Relations, Jamie Belitz in obtaining the generous donation. The new playground equipment will be installed on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 7:30am to 4:00pm. Volunteers are needed to assist in the playground build.
