Grant Writing I
This is an introduction to grantwriting to local foundations and corporations. We review the critical aspect of researching funders to match funding opportunities with the programs and activities of your nonprofit, as well as strategies for approaching funders. This review uses actual funding guidelines from local foundations and corporations. We cover the essential elements of a proposal, including need statement, program design, evaluation, and the budget. A particular emphasis on stewardship and reporting is included in this overview. Actual proposals will be used in class to review and critique. Note: This class does not deal with government grants, research grants, or grants to individuals.
