| Road to Health Tool Kit: Free Train-the-Trainer Workshop |
| The Road to Health Toolkit is targeted to individuals who provide diabetes education. The tool kit provides real-life examples, 17 hands-on activities, and interactive ideas which focus on healthy eating and increasing physical activity for diabetes prevention. The facilitator can decide which parts of the toolkit would be best in their community, and it can be used for group classes or individual sessions.
By the end of the training participants will be able to define, types, symptoms, and complications of diabetes, list at least three major findings of the Diabetes Prevention Study, explain how type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed, indentify at least five risk factors for type 2 diabetes, explain the importance of making small lifestyle changes to prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes, define serving and portion size, and demonstrate how to use the Road to Health Tool Kit.
