Nonprofit Resource Center

Testimonial

I have come to depend on Southside Community Partners'Nonprofit Resource Center as a reliable source for current information on all aspects of the nonprofit industry.  I regularly use the Online Foundation database and the extensive library holdings and recently I have consulted one-on-one with staff member Shari Henry concerning a special web based project. All at no cost!

Switch: How to Change Things When Change is Hard

Are you meeting resistance as you try to affect change? Understanding the resistance you face will help you overcome the obstacles in your way, and help you be part of moving your organization forward, embracing change and bringing others along with you. Written by bestselling authors of Made to Stick, Switch draws on research and anecdotes of several real-life successful efforts to change people and organizations for good. You'll learn (or be reminded) how to keep your eyes on the destination, shrink the change, grow people, build habits, rally the troupes and keep on switching. the authors say, "We studies people trying to make difficult changes: People fighting to lose weight and keep it off. Managers trying to overhaul an entrenched bureaucracy. Activists combating seemingly intractable problems such as child malnutrition. They succeeded--and, to our surprise, we found striking similarities in the strategies they used. They seemed to share a similar game plan. We wanted, in Switch, to make that game plan available to everyone, in hopes that we could show people how to make the hard changes in lie a little bit easier." If you're ready to make your life a little bit easier, read this book.

Please note: Too busy to read but spend a lot of time in your car? In an effort to better serve you, we are beginning to add several books on CD to our Nonprofit Resource Center collection. Switch represent our first title on CD. Check it out!
