Testimonials from September through December 2009 Workshops

Thanks for providing this training opportunity. It was helpful and very practical for suggestions including the provision of templates and offer of consultation as related to the in-class project. From Program Evaluation: Making the Connections, Logically with Barbara Dunn.

I enjoyed learning so many different ways to manipulate information in a database. Even though I was challenged to absorb a lot of information in a relatively short time, I thought the class was well paced, and the instructor was very skilled and patient. From Microsoft Access: Tables, Forms & Reports with Kathy Surles.

I have been doing grassroots advocacy for months and FINALLY understand the distinction between this and more direct lobbying. You can call this either a “eureka” or “ah duh” moment as you wish.  From Worry-Free Advocacy for Nonprofits with Alliance for Justice.

The entire class was appropriate/necessary. It was good to see examples of websites that had been set up, and to hear comments from others in the class. The hands-on experience made the subject more memorable. From Creating Your Online/Virtual Fundraising Campaign with Kristy Hall.

It was a great introduction to new tools/websites that I wasn't aware of like: delicious.com, bit.ly, Google Alerts. And the information about fundraising with social media. I'm still reviewing the slide handout and trying things. We started using bit.ly to track who's clicking on the links for Project Homeless Connect that we've posted on Facebook and Tweeted. From Social Media: What’s All the Fuss About? with Sarah Milston.

I wish class didn’t have to end! I liked hearing from other participants mixed with knowledge from the instructor. The explanation of how agreements need to be reached with both parties at the table and notes was especially helpful. From A New Deal: Next Steps for Collaboration with Randy Howard
