Current economic conditions and philanthropic trends necessitate nonprofit organizations to procure funding sources outside of private and public grants. In order to successfully sustain and proliferate, nonprofits must become more adept in identifying and developing alternative revenue solutions. But, where does one begin this search and how? On Thursday, June 6, the Southside Community Partners’ Learning & Leadership program will host a one-time special event focusing on diversifying nonprofit revenues. This program will feature a panel of experts in areas such as annual campaigns, fundraising events, earned income strategy, and asset management who will discuss current trends, best practices, and offer their insights on how organizations can tap into viable funding alternatives. Attendees will benefit from interactive and informative discussion followed by an audience question-and-answer session. Our event panelists include:
Laurie Jarrett Rogers: an experienced independent grant writer who specializes in fund development, grant management, and annual campaigns.
Toni Maxey: owner of Milestone Events LLC who has worked with nonprofit clients and serves as President of the Virginia Association of Fundraising Executives board of directors.
Dwala Ferrell: CEO of Pathways located in Petersburg, a dynamic nonprofit organization offering a versatile programs model designed to meet multiple community needs.
Eric Perkins: attorney and founder of Perkins Law PLLC, author, and speaker whose client list includes entrepreneurs, small businesses, franchisees, and nonprofits.
Virginia Community Capital: a multi-million dollar nonprofit, Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), and banking entity providing financial solutions as well as advisory services to help small businesses, nonprofits, and government entities operate more effectively.
