Deborah serves as executive director of the Virginia Network of Nonprofit Organizations, where she implements strategic goals set by VANNO's Board of Directors. Her duties include statewide outreach to expand VANNO's membership case and impact, building VANNO's capacity to serve and represent the Commonwealth's nearly 40,000 nonprofit organizations, and engaging in government relations on behalf of Virginia's nonprofits. She is an attorney and former consultant, having worked with many nonprofits and the professionals who serve them. She frequently teaches courses on nonprofit law, governance and management for Virginia Commonwealth University and University of Virginia. She is a graduate of the College of William and Mary; holds an MPA from George Mason University; and received a JD from the University of Richmond School of Law.
