Dental Care Descriptor Definitions

Diagnostic dental care - provides routine dental care, including identifying dental health issues.

Endodontic treatments - provides root canal treatments.

Fixed prosthodontics - provides restorative tooth care to restore teeth using crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and/or veneers.

Oral surgery - provides surgery and related treatment of diseases, injuries and defects involving both the functional and esthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissue of the head, mouth, teeth, gums, jaws, and neck.

Pediatric dentistry - provides dental care for children.

Periodontal treatments - provides treatment for the gums and gum disease.

Preventative dental care - provides routine dental care, such as tooth cleaning, fluoride treatments, and x-rays.

Removable prosthodontics - replaces missing teeth with a removable prosthesis, such as dentures or a bridge.

Restorative dental treatments - provides fillings, crowns, etc to restore the function of the tooth.
