 The Power of Digital Storytelling

Relevance: Nonprofits must tell their story - whether in person, online, on printed materials, and beyond. The more channels they use effectively, the further their reach and the more engaging the story, the stronger the impact it will have on the recipients. Digital storytelling can have a big reach and easy to get started.

Practicality: Camera phones, webcams, flip cams, and other popular electronics make it easier than ever to capture content. With a little help from technology, turn this content - images and videos of your hard work - into a powerful story that reaches more people than ever before.

Impact: In today's world, organizations must be more creative than ever with what content they distribute to their constituents. A powerful digital story can significantly increase funding opportunities and community engagement.

Affordability: There are many free and low cost digital storytelling tools (hardware and software) available on the market. This clinic will review some of the best to consider.

Clinic participants will:

  • Learn how digital storytelling can make a big impact on public awareness, marketing and fundraising
  • See examples of successful nonprofit digital storytelling
  • Review free or inexpensive tools to get started immediately
  • Gain access to an online toolkit with resources and information for capturing rich media content
