The Consultant Directory is a tool for individuals in nonprofits organizations, governmental agencies and other civic groups of the Southside community to access services and information about for-profit entities and businesses that provide capacity building and organizational development services.

Who can access the Consultant Directory?

The Consultant Directory is a free, online tool that anyone can access for information and resources to strengthening the operational infrastructure of their organization or group. The intended audience includes residents of Chesterfield County, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie County, Hopewell, Petersburg, Prince George County, Surry County and Sussex County.

What is capacity-building?

Capacity building is a term commonly used to refer to any activities a nonprofit engages in "to improve and enhance its ability to achieve its mission and sustain itself over time" as defined by the National Council of Nonprofits.

Are there funding opportunities for professional consultant services?

Yes, there are several foundations that support professional consulting services as a means to improve the operational infrastructure of individual organizations. Locally, The Cameron Foundation's Technical Assistance grant program funds up to $15,000. More than one request can be made per year on a rolling basis.

Is this a complete list of resources in the Southside region?

No, the Consultant Directory is not meant to serve as a complete list of resources. The directory is fee-based and the information contained within this directory reflects information provided by for-profit entities and businesses who chose to be members. The information contained is not verified or endorsed by ConnectSouthside.org.

Who can join the Consultant Directory?

Any for-profit entity or business that serves some part of the Southside community including Chesterfield County, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie County, Hopewell, Petersburg, Prince George County, Surry County and Sussex County in any area of capacity building and organizational development is eligible for membership in the directory.
